Everything you need to know about Fuel STK and how it can transform your nutrition.

What is Fuel STK?

Fuel STK is an AI-powered meal planning app that builds meal plans from the groceries you already have. Tell it your goals, stock your pantry, and it creates meals designed to hit your macros — no spreadsheets or guesswork required.

How does the AI meal planning work?

Fuel STK uses Claude to choose a coherent, realistic set of foods for each meal from your pantry, then a math solver calculates the exact grams needed to hit your macro targets — so the food choices are sensible and the numbers are always precise.

What's the difference between a regular plan and an AI plan?

Your plan generates automatically from your pantry and targets using the solver, which locks in exact macros every time. Tapping the "✨ AI plan" button additionally uses Claude to pick more coherent, realistic food combinations — the solver still sets the exact grams either way. AI generations are limited on a rolling weekly basis; the regular plan is unlimited, and you get one free AI generation the first time you build a plan.

Do I have to track calories or macros manually?

No — Fuel STK calculates your daily targets and builds meal plans to match them automatically. You can also log food manually any time you want to track something outside your plan.

What if I have dietary restrictions or food preferences?

Fuel STK doesn't track allergies or dietary restrictions — since every meal is built only from foods already in your pantry, your pantry itself is the safeguard: simply don't add foods you can't or don't want to eat, and Fuel STK will never suggest them. Always review a suggested meal before eating it, just as you would any recipe.

How do I add my groceries?

Scan a barcode or search by name — Fuel STK looks up nutrition info automatically and adds it to your pantry. You can also enter a food manually if it isn't in the database.

Should I add a food by weight or by unit?

By default, foods are weighed in grams. If something's easier to count than weigh — an egg, a scoop, a slice — you can name a unit for it instead and set how many grams one unit weighs, plus how many units make up one serving. Either way, the plan tracks and scales the exact amount.

What are the pantry categories (Protein, Carbs, Fat, Misc) for?

Every food is grouped into Protein, Carbs, Fat, or Misc based on its dominant macro, so you can filter and organize your pantry at a glance. Misc is for anything you don't want the planner treating as a real ingredient — condiments, sauces, and extras like teriyaki sauce or ketchup are auto-sorted there, and you can manually set any food (like ice cream) to Misc yourself. Misc foods stay in your pantry and can be logged anytime — they're just excluded from auto-generated plans, so add them to a meal yourself if you want them included.

Can I mark a food as out of stock without deleting it?

Yes — toggle a food's stock status right from the Pantry tab. Out-of-stock foods stay in your pantry (so anything you've already logged is unaffected) but won't be used in new meal plans until you mark them back in stock.

Can I remove a food from my pantry completely?

Yes — tap the trash icon () on any pantry item to remove it for good. If you just don't have it right now but might again later, marking it out of stock instead is usually more convenient.

Can I limit a food to certain meals?

Yes — when adding a food (or editing it later from the Pantry tab), you can tag which meals it's eligible for. Leave it untagged and it's usable in any meal; tag it and your plan only uses it for the meals you picked — e.g. tag deli turkey for Lunch only so it never shows up at breakfast.

How do I set my macro targets?

From the Progress tab, use the built-in calculator (based on your age, sex, weight, height, activity level, and goal) to get a recommended starting point, or enter your protein, carb, and fat targets directly — calories are always derived from those three so the numbers stay consistent.

Can I edit my meal plan?

Yes. You can swap ingredients, add or remove foods, and adjust quantities on any meal — Fuel STK will recalculate portions to help keep your day on target.

Can I add extra food to a specific meal?

Yes — tap "Add food" () at the bottom of any meal card to pull in another item from your pantry.

How do I change how much of a food is in a meal?

Tap the pencil icon () on any item in a meal to adjust its quantity directly.

How do I remove a food from a meal?

Tap the trash icon () next to any item in a meal and confirm — it's removed from that meal, not from your pantry.

How do I swap a food in my meal plan?

Tap the swap icon () on any item in a meal, then pick a replacement from your pantry. Fuel STK tries to match the macros of the food you're swapping out, so a swap doesn't throw off what that meal was already hitting.

Can I replace an entire meal instead of editing it?

Yes — tap "Replace" () on a meal to swap the whole thing for one of your saved favorites in one step, rather than editing individual foods.

How do I set up my meal schedule?

From the Plan tab, tap the meal schedule banner () to open the editor. There you can choose how many meals and snacks you eat each day, adjust how much of your daily macros each one should carry, and pin a specific favorite meal to any slot so it shows up automatically.

What do a meal's Size and Emphasis settings do?

Size sets how big a share of your daily targets that meal carries (Snack, Small, Medium, or Large). Emphasis shifts how that meal's calories split across protein, carb, and fat — it doesn't change your day's totals, just how that one meal is balanced. Reorder meals with the up/down arrows on each meal card in the schedule editor.

What's a fixed meal?

A fixed meal is a schedule slot pinned to one of your saved favorites — it always uses that exact meal instead of the planner building one from your pantry, so Size and Emphasis don't apply to it. Handy for something you eat the same way every day, like a protein shake.

Can I add an extra meal just for one day?

Yes — tap "Add a meal for today" on the Plan tab to add a one-off meal without changing your regular schedule. Once you've added food to it, Fuel STK can offer to recalculate your other meals to make room — it will never touch a meal you've already logged.

Why does my plan say it can't hit my targets?

This shows up when your current pantry genuinely can't reach one of your macro targets — usually because it's missing enough of a particular macro (like carb-dense foods). The banner tells you which macro is short; adding more variety to your pantry is the fix.

How many AI meal plans can I generate?

The free tier includes a small number of AI generations on a rolling 7-day basis (not a fixed calendar week) — plus one bonus free generation the first time you build a plan. Your regular (non-AI) plan is unlimited and always available.

How do I report a bug or send feedback?

During testing, tap the feedback icon () in the top-left of any main screen to report a bug, flag something confusing, or suggest an improvement — pick a category, add a note, and it goes straight to us. This button is only available during the testing period and won't be in the final App Store release.

How do I log what I actually ate?

Tap "I ate this" () on any meal in your plan to log it in one tap, or add food manually from the Log tab. Once a meal is logged, Fuel STK never changes its portions again — even if you edit or recalculate the rest of the day.

Can I log or edit food for a previous day?

Yes — use the date navigation on the Log tab to move to any previous day and add, edit, or remove entries there.

How do I unlog a meal I logged by mistake?

Tap the log icon () on a meal you've already logged and confirm you want to unlog it — it's removed from your log and can be logged again later if needed.

Can I save a meal as a favorite to reuse later?

Yes — tap "Save as favorite" () on any meal in your plan. You can pull a favorite back into a future plan, or pin it to a specific slot in your meal schedule so it always shows up there.

Can I track my weight over time?

Yes — log your weight from the Progress tab to see how it's changed since your first weigh-in, alongside your daily macro history and logging streak.

Can I sign in with Apple or Google?

Yes — Fuel STK supports signing in with Apple, Google, or a regular email and password, whichever is easiest for you.

How do I delete my account?

From Account → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your profile, pantry, meal plans, food log, weight history, and favorites — this action can't be undone.

Where do I find the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service?

Both are linked from the Settings screen in the app (tap the gear icon — ), as well as at the bottom of this page.

Is Fuel STK suitable for everyone?

Fuel STK provides general nutrition and meal-planning information — it's not a substitute for medical or dietary advice from a qualified professional. If you have a medical condition or specific health needs, check with a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet.

What platforms is Fuel STK available on?

Fuel STK is currently in early access testing for iOS, with an App Store release coming soon. Android support is planned — join the early access list to be notified when it's available.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit, and our database uses row-level security so your information is only ever accessible from your own account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

What data does Fuel STK collect?

Just what's needed to build your plans and track your progress: your account info, health and fitness details you provide (age, weight, goals, macro targets), your pantry and meal history, and basic usage data like how many AI plans you've generated. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell or share my data?

We never sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers to run the app — like our database provider, Anthropic for AI-generated meal plans, and Apple or Google if you sign in with them — and we don't use your health or fitness data for advertising.

Can I export my data?

Not yet — you can view and edit your data directly in the app, and permanently delete all of it from Settings, but a dedicated export option isn't built yet. It's on our roadmap.

Do I need an account to use Fuel STK?

Yes — creating an account (with email, Apple, or Google) lets Fuel STK securely save your pantry, targets, and meal history.

What are the pricing and subscription options?

Fuel STK is currently free during early access. We'll announce pricing details before any paid tier launches — early access users will be the first to know.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
